About the ArtistI am 18 years old and have been an independent entrepreneur artist for 5 years at this point where I started off painting sneakers for money, which then gravitated to me making bigger than life paintings from canvas, to murals. I started taking this course to try to get myself back into drawing with paper and pen but surely realized that the spark and passion isn't the same as it is for acrylics, which in fact used to be the complete opposite when I was younger. During the summer and semester breaks I like to make pieces that take long hours and lots of details.

Reflections on Urban Sketching
What I have learned in this course was that artists have their niches and no matter how good they are, that one thing they may enjoy more. I also learned that there is a whole legion of urban sketchers of different styles. One thing I do see myself doing in the future is urban painting or plein air art. I developed skills like being able to create comprehensible sloppy quick sketches. It will help me in the future to iterate an idea I have in a quick manner for later. And its fun doing so to see how fast you can sketch something that makes sense.
“Envisioned”
This piece I sat on the bench outside of the Library and sketched in pencil and went back to my dorm to ink this and it came out great and I kept most of the pencil marks to add an extra dimension. This is the back of Gally and I liked the thought of drawing this with putting details mostly into the statues. I wanted to make the statues stand out and almost glow but that Idea came later in the making, when it was too late.
“Trashy thoughts”
I was feeling down and uninspired so I kind of painted my mood, I was confused and it was cluttered, I felt lost as an artist as I have not been doing what I want to be doing. This is in seton hall while I was visiting my friend and drawing this bought definition to how I was feeling.
