Soyoung Jeong |
About the ArtistMy name is Soyoung Jeong, and I am an exchange student from Seoul, South Korea, currently studying at Niagara University. Art has always been a source of confidence and relaxation for me. This class is my second experience with drawing here at Niagara University, and I am grateful that I have left some memorable records with art

Reflections on Urban SketchingAlthough I have had a considerable amount of experience in drawing, I have not really attempted to draw landscapes or buildings. Last semester, I took an art history class and there was a chance to draw a studio work. Eventually these led me to take this class, and I think it was a great decision I made. Sometimes I was disappointed with my skills, which had declined since I was actively drawing, but I was able
to regain confidence by continuing to draw anyways and became more interested in drawing. I have to draw with limited tools this semester, but I would like to continue drawing after going back to Korea with the tools I used before and even explore some new tool |

Sunset from Seton Hall
This is a view from my room at Seton Hall where I spent the most of time, during my two semesters. I like to take photos of beautiful skies, so I was taking a picture of the sunset and I wanted to capture this moment in a painting as well. I had to be in a rush before the sun set completely. At first, I planned to finish it only with watercolors but adding lines with the pen really improved the painting.
