About the ArtistI am a senior Theatre design and production major with a minor in Fine Arts, my focus is costume and make-up design. I am from Poughkeepsie, New York. I have loved drawing and other forms of art since I was a child. For me drawing and painting has always been a destresser and has been calming.

Reflections on Urban Sketching I learned that trying different mediums is a lot of fun once you get past the initial intimidation of trying something new. Also when it comes to Urban sketching I learned that drawing from life and in real
time is a different experience than drawing from a photo. My skills have developed this semester by trying new things and experimenting with how things work together. I feel that I have improved since the start of this class. The present is short but that is the beauty of Urban sketching because being able to capture a moment as things around you disappear and move on is something that really stood out to me while sketching. |
Sketching on Location |
My Apartment From Afar
This is an ink sketch of the on campus apartment 3 the place I have lived my first year here on campus and a place I now live. I thought it would be fitting to sketch a place where I have had so many memories and a place where I began and ended my college experience. This was a sketch I did in Ink.
Christmas at the CAM
This is a watercolor sketch I did in the Castellani Art museum. This holds a special place in my heart as it is part of the theatre exhibit that me and my friends as well as my professors worked hard to create parts of. This sketch is the fireplace from Miss Benett’s Christmas at Pemberly. I used watercolor and ink to create this piece.
Urban Sketching Kit
I have ink and brush pens that are water based so I can use water with them. I have watercolor and brushes, micron pens for detail work, white pens for added highlights, pencils, ebony pencil, masking tape for boarders, small watercolor paper for testing or smaller sketches, a small sketch book for thumbnails, and a mixed media sketchbook. of these I prefer ink and brush pens and watercolor or a combination of the two.
