About the ArtistI am Lauren Diez, I am a sophomore in Niagara University's psychology program. I am studying to become an art therapist one day, to help older people, kids and vets through their tough times and in need. I am an artist who runs there own small business called CraftyAnxiety. I sell my artwork. My art style is more of an abstract surrealism style because of the bold colors and the shapes. I have worked hard as an artist to get where I am
today. |
Reflections on Urban SketchingI have learned from urban sketching that you need perspective, and there are many different techniques out there from fine liners to watercolor and markers and as well much more. A new perspective that I have learned is that don't let your inner self tell you you can't do something. Draw something small every day and try your best. My sketching skills have developed a lot in perspective, shading and how i see the bigger picture of sketching. It was a fun class to take because of the adventures that you face, whether is what color you want to use, making amazing new friends, or planning out your time overall.

Sketching on LocationI chose this one because of the different shapes and sizes in the restaurant that me and my boyfriend were at for our lunch date and sketch.
