Reflections on Urban SketchingI have learned a lot in this class. There are perspectives 1 and 2 that I like to use. I used to start all my sketches in pencil but learned how to start in ink and it feels more freeing. I learned a lot on linear perspective with objects smaller at a distance and closer front and how to draw that way. Shading, values, and casting shadows. Framing in different ways as vertical and horizontal using objects in sight to capture the true picture to draw out. I have developed a light wash with my ink styles and then totally different using colored pencils with black paper. I had a great time in this class capturing scenes of buildings I enjoy and drawing them out learning so many techniques to find my own way

Sketching on LocationThis is a partly finished sketch of my apartment building. I’m standing in my parking lot a little bit away. I drew this because I like the angle.

Ireland on Country Longford
This was one assignment to find anything in the world to draw. I picked this country house because I am half Irish. Then I zoomed in on Google maps and found a country road, followed it until I found a house that I enjoyed. I did this in ink and watercolor as a light wash (virtual sketch)
Urban Sketching Kit
My art kit shows many different media. I have watercolor paper and watercolor paint pads which are important for a light wash style I like; I also use more of a looseness in the ink; I learned this from Simone Ridyard. She is an urban sketch artist from Manchester. One of the urban sketching artists from my project for class. Very inspirational. I then tried another style with black sketch paper and colored pencils. I learned this style from a friend, MJ Myers, he is an artist that did some urban sketches like this. He is officially an oil painter. So, these media are enjoyable to me I like the styles and want to keep using them in my future sketches
