Reflections on Urban Sketching
I have a history in art. I’ve taken classes through middle school and high school, so I thought I knew what I was doing, but you can improve everywhere. And I did. Something I always did when drawing was using grid lines on my pictures and paper. It helped me a lot to get things
to be precise and accurate. But when Urban Sketching on location you can’t do that. I learned that in person you can mark on your paper and trying holding up your pen to make a makeshift grid on the building or scene in front of you. It makes sketching easier. I think my precision has improved especially looking at my final sketch and my first.

Sketching on Location
This is one of my favorite drawings because there are not a ton of complex details but you can still tell what it is. And I personally think that the ink and pen look really cool. Its also my very first urban sketch and i like looking back at it and realizing how far I’ve come.
